The Macadamia tour on the La Anita farm not only reveals the secrets of the most exotic and expensive nut in the entire world, but it also offers impressive views of three of Costa Rica's volcanoes.

Additionally, you'll have the chance to experience the impacting climatic change between the dry forest and the tropical rainforest.

The Miravalles Volcano is an andesitic stratovolcano in Costa Rica. The caldera was formed during several major explosive eruptions that produced voluminous dacitic-rhyolitic pyroclastic flows between about 1.5 and 0.6 million years ago. The only reported historical eruptive activity was a small steam explosion on the SW flank in 1946. High heat flow remains, and Miravalles is the site of the largest developed geothermal field in Costa Rica.

The region's dynamic geology will also be at your fingertips. All of this within two hours! After the tour, you'll have a delicious, authentic Costa Rican lunch. During your time on the macadamia plantation you'll discover what makes this “queen of the nuts” so spectacular.

You'll also be able to take a little homemade macadamia nougat back home with you as a delicious souvenir of your trip to Costa Rica. On the way back you will enjoy some Costa Rican art in our stop at the gallery.

Includes Air-conditioned transportation, bilingual guide, tractor transportation, and lunch.
